Well, some housekeeping announcements today.

First off, everybody give a hand to Grace Strobes. (audience cheering) She didn't do anything, I just wanted you to give her a hand.

So. (audience laughing) Actually, the hollow bread that was down here was made by Grace.

Isaac, you are a very, very blessed man to have such a fantastic wife.

So, I wanna thank my kiddos.

Everybody give my children a hand, all five of them.

For coming early and helping set up.

Where is Nora Smith?

Okay, I was about to say, you're quiet, that never happens, I thought like something was wrong.

Everybody give a hand to Nora Smith. (audience cheering) See, Nora Smith has been family with us since we met on that little property over on Indian Hills Road, and then she came on over here to Westmore, and we've just stayed family.

But she got here super early just to be able to pour the 150 to 200 cups.

Well, yeah, 200 cups, 'cause see there's six, seven, eight, there's like eight left over there.

So, some of y'all didn't drink your grape juice, that's okay, you can have it later. (audience laughing) There's multiple calendars, you can do it when the sun goes down and take it home for tomorrow, all those, oh, I was thinking too soon?

Okay, I'm sorry.

I'm on a short leash today, but I wore my running shoes today, and that's good, because Brent said he can't grow up in the independent Christian church, but tonight he went all Pentecostal, so. (audience laughing) Man, I don't even know that you needed the shofar, bro.

Like you could have gone straight in on it.

And okay, kids, I gotta be fully transparent with you.

I've been here with you on Saturdays, and you're louder than that on a normal Saturday, so it must just be because it's past some of y'all's bedtime, and in about 23 minutes it passed mine and Phillip's too, so.

But welcome to the Feast of Trumpets last night at sundown through sundown tonight, which I think has probably happened.

We have been invited to partake in the Feasts of the Lord.

For me personally, 'cause I'm not a conformist, I like to have different terms and titles.

So I prefer to call them the family gatherings.

So think of this for a second.

When you were growing up, if you grew up in a healthy home, if you didn't, I'm sorry, but guess what?

The Lord is the perfect father and mother, and there's always that redemption, and that's why I like the term family gatherings.

Family gatherings at my house when we were growing up, we would all get together around the table for Sunday dinner.

When my wife and I moved away, because my mom liked to steal our dogs in the middle of the afternoon, we needed to set up some boundaries.

So we decided the best way to do that was to move to Nashville, Tennessee, and when we did that, we would go back occasionally on the weekends, and when we would go back on the weekends, we'd have barbecues and beers and all those types of things, and we'd come together and we'd have just a great time as a family.

And so we get invited every single year to join the Lord in his family gatherings.

Those gatherings are always the best.

See, commonly I've heard that the feasts in the Old Testament that were also walked out by Jesus and his disciples in the New Testament are just for the Jews, and a lot of times we hear them called as the Jewish feasts.

The reality is Leviticus 23, as Brent wrote, read earlier, it says, "The Lord spoke to Moses, "speak to the Israelites and say to them "that these are my appointed festivals, "the appointed festivals of the Lord, "which you too are to proclaim as sacred assemblies."

Every once in a while, sacred means get loud.

We're gonna have to start doing this in the afternoon.

We've got two diverse, between the 102 young kids and then the grandparents age, everybody's falling asleep.

Guys, I got 22 minutes before I turn into a pumpkin.

We gotta do it in 22 minutes and we gotta do it hard.

So if you grew up in a Catholic church or if you grew up in a church where some of the Baptists were just like, praise God.

You're gonna have to set that aside a little bit tonight.

As you can see, I'm trying to heal from double pneumonia and I brought my running shoes, also known as my Pentecostal shoes.

So just saying.

I promised the worship team I would only teach for 20 something minutes and so as we fall asleep, I'm gonna keep just making it longer and longer and longer and longer and longer.

Before you know it, we're gonna absolutely have met every single calendar.

These are sacred assemblies to the Lord. (congregation cheering) They're not Jewish feasts.

They're not feasts that we can forsake the Jews and it's a family feast.

When we come together at the family feast, Colossians 2.16 says, "Therefore, let no one pass judgment on you "in question of food or drink or weather, "regard to a festival, a new moon or a Sabbath."

We are to come together, set aside whatever our thought processes is on it and remember that we got invited back to mom and dad's house.

And however great your family gatherings are or as messed up as they might be, when the Lord invites you back to his family gatherings, this is the greatest time of the year.

Think about your birthday parties, kiddos.

When you have your birthday parties and there's all this fun stuff that happens and all that kind of stuff, it's greater than that.

It's greater than that.

Because the Lord says that not only is it gonna bring your brothers and sisters from here, but there's brothers and sisters around the entire globe, the entire globe who are gathering together praising.

I don't know about seismic activity.

This week I was calling the insurance company to get a quote on our homeowners insurance and they said that, "Oh, earthquake insurance in Oklahoma is kind of just not, it's not really that important because earthquake insurance doesn't cover fracking."

But I want us to feel seismic activity because the whole world is yelling and screaming, hallelujah, praise God, from whom all blessings flow, Jesus Christ is King.

These are the Lord's family gatherings.

He's invited us to meet with him.

As the father and the mother, I know that's gonna have to be a whole nother series I'm gonna do at some point in time.

God is both male and female in that element.

So as father and mother, father and mother, we are the sons and daughters.

I don't think anybody in here has any problem with that because we have no problem fighting like we're brothers and sisters.

And it's also not new.

I know you would say, "Oh, okay, well, we should all get along."

I'm sorry, I have three brothers.

The only way we get along is when we're hitting each other.

Now HFF has already adopted a new hitting policy so that will be a quick exit out the door.

But when we come to the family gatherings, we shouldn't have this portion inside of our psyche or inside of us that says that we're not gonna have disagreements or different thought processes.

This was in the gospels.

When we's reading the gospels, Jesus is he literally.

So some of us are like, "I struggle to know what Jesus wants of us."

Jesus is sitting at the table in the flesh and blood.

Yeshua Hamashika is sitting there.

And it's like, "Master, who's the greatest?"

"Me."

"I know it's not John.

"I think you think it's Peter, but I'm hoping it's me."

And he's like, "Oh my gosh, really?"

So as we come to the feast, we have to remember it's okay to have disagreements with one another as long as we do it in a healthy way.

Which means you tattle on me behind my back to mom and dad.

Landon, I see you laughing.

Miranda doesn't even have to tell on you, you just gave yourself away.

Today is unlike some of the other feasts though.

A lot of feasts have a lot of different elements and yet there's a lot of similar elements to it.

However, the Feast of Trumpets, also known as Yom Teruah, you'll hear some people say Yom Teruah.

Trumpets, we all speak English.

So trumpets, you'll hear some people talk about, this is a different day.

It's a little bit of a different day.

Of course it is because it actually falls on the first of the month.

So it's a day that says, the Lord said to Moses, "Say to the Israelites, on the first day of the seventh month."

In the ancient times, the priests would go out into the temple and they would look for what's called Rosh Kadesh.

Anybody heard of Rosh Kadesh?

Okay, a couple of hands.

Okay, Rosh Kadesh is the new moon.

It's the starting of the new month.

And so you would have to go out and you would have to see the sighting.

And in that time, it wasn't nearly as complicated as we've made it.

They just went out and it's like, "Oh, I see something that looks like the moon."

Okay, they would bring the trumpets out in the courts of the temple and they would blow and they would announce the start of the month.

So in the start of the seventh month with the announcement from the priests in the temple, they would come and they would announce that it was the start of the seventh month.

And here it is, the feast of trumpets.

It's not only the first of the fall family gatherings, it's also the first of the Hebrew month's history.

Now I texted Ian last night and Alyssa responded for him that he was watching baseball, which is I guess now code for sleeping.

I'm learning.

We all speak different English.

He was watching, okay.

But I texted him last night to see if he had seen the moon and he hadn't.

I've been locked in here so I haven't seen the moon tonight.

Some say the projected moon is tomorrow night.

So guess what?

Sometimes we get it, sometimes we don't.

But this church especially has decided that we're going to try to gather together in line with the Hallel calendar.

Why?

Because I believe in the restoration of all things.

And I believe when Jesus comes back the second time, he will restore all things, which means he will restore all the tribes.

He will restore us to our Jewish brothers and sisters.

He will restore us to the land 'cause you can't have a king that doesn't have a people and you can't have a king that doesn't have a land.

The feast of trumpets is commonly taught that this is when Jesus will return as the lion of the tribe of Judah.

The king of kings coming to establish his kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.

This is a time that it's commonly taught that he won't come and lay down his life for the Roman occupation and for the kingdoms of the world to take his life.

This is the time where it says he's gonna come back and he's gonna roar.

This is the time where it says he's gonna come back and he's gonna be the conquering king.

And with those shouts of joy and blowing of the shofar, he will come to announce war and to assemble.

See, there's two common themes with the shofar or the trumpet throughout scripture.

It's a call to war and it's a call to assemble.

All my prophecy loving eschatology, loving people in the house, the call to war, yeah, yeah, I'm about to get in there a little bit.

The call to war is to start now.

This isn't some future war that's like, oh, when we see Jesus coming riding on the clouds that all of a sudden we're supposed to war.

Jesus tells us that we're to war every single day against the sinful nature and the flesh we have.

So if we're warring every single day, we're preparing this earth just like it is in heaven for the day when the heavens and the earth will collide.

Utilizing Matthew 24, we see that Matthew, Matthew is writing about the concept of the book of Matthew.

We talked about this for the last two weeks.

The greater concept of the book of Matthew or the gospel of Matthew is called the greater Exodus.

This greater Exodus is actually spoken of in Jeremiah 16,4.

It's referencing the day and the hour that no man will know on the second coming of Christ.

So we have the first Exodus, which is a Passover, which is at the start of the spring feast cycle.

And then at the start of the fall feast, we have the time by which the Lord is said to have come back.

And so we have the first Exodus at the cross.

We have the greater Exodus, the Exodus of sin and death.

And then we have the conclusion, the conclusion of the greater Exodus, which is when Yeshua comes back and he finally binds up the adversary and all the workers of the adversary and he cast them into the lake of fire.

Referencing the day and the hour that no one knows is a Hebrew idiom that is commonly used for the feast of trumpets.

And over 2000 years, we've had thousands of kings come and go in this world.

So what makes Yeshua the Messiah, a different king?

We've played before service, the last, I don't even know how many weeks, but for a long period of time, we've played this video that's called an Easter video in the Christian library that we downloaded from.

It's a Christian video, but it's called No Other King.

And so as we've been playing that, reminding us that there's thousands of kings.

Right now in America, we theoretically are getting ready to vote for a king.

Shocker.

We call it different, we call it a president, we say that there's checks and balances, but shockingly enough, it's similar to a king of the world who has influence and power.

We have the same thing, we have King Charles across the pond, we have kings, we have queens, we have all these people.

So what makes this king different?

If he's just another Republican or a Democrat, if he's just another Conservative or a Progressive, what makes Jesus the Christ, Yeshua Hamashiach, different?

When we talk about the first coming in the life of Jesus, we say what child is this?

A child who came and was born in a barn, had a humble upbringing, who revolutionized the world through his humanity and his love and his teachings and his actions.

He ultimately laid down his life as the lamb of God who was slain before the foundations of the world.

So let me tell you about my king.

Long ago and many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets.

But in these last days, he has spoken to us by his son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.

He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature.

And he upholds the universe by the word of his power.

And making purifications for sin, he sat down at the right hand of the majesty on high, having become as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs.

For to which of the angels did God say, "You are my son, today I have begotten you."

Or again, "I will be to him a father "and he shall be to me a son."

And again, when he brings the firstborn into the world, he says, "Let all God's angels worship him."

Of the angels, he says, he makes his angels winds and his ministers a flame of fire.

But of the son, he says, "Your throne, O God, "is forever and ever and the scepter of uprightness "is the scepter of your kingdom.

"You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness.

"Therefore God, your God, has anointed you "with the oil of gladness beyond your companions.

"And you, Lord, laid the foundations of the earth "in the beginning and the heavens are the work of your hands.

"They will perish but you remain.

"They will all wear out like a garment, "like a robe you will roll them up.

"Like a garment they will be changed, "but you are the same and your years will have no end."

And to which of the angels has he ever said, "Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies "a footstool for your feet."

And they not all ministering spirits sent out to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation.

Therefore we must pay close attention to what we have heard lest we drift away from it.

For since the message declared by the angels proved to be reliable and every transgression or disobedience received a just retribution, how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation?

It was declared at first by the Lord and it was attested to us by those who heard.

While God also bore witnesses by signs and wonders and various miracles and by the gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his word.

So let me tell you about my King.

A King who doesn't discriminate against the wealthy or by race.

A King who shows unmeasured grace.

A King who went to prepare a place.

Let me tell you about my King.

A King who triumphed over the grave.

A King who promised to come back and save.

A King who sends his spirit like waves.

Let me tell you about my King.

A King who never failed to vow.

A King whom all other Kings bow.

A King whose words avow.

Let me tell you about my King.

And I heard about his healing of his cleansing power revealing.

How he made the lame to walk again and caused the blind to see.

And then I cried, "Dear Jesus, come and heal my broken spirit."

And somehow Jesus came and brought to me the victory.

Stand with me if you will.

To me the victory.

(congregation laughing) That's what happens when you come to the family table.

It starts out and it's your brothers and sisters and then they get married and you had no say so over that.

And then when you start to look around, you're like.

It gets even weirder if it's your ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend who's now married to your sibling.

And then they're all sitting around the family table.

When we come together as a family for the family gatherings, for the Feast of the Lord, we have to remember that in the end, every single person who gathers, every single person who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

It doesn't matter whether they're our stepbrother or step-sister.

It doesn't matter if it's our ex-girlfriend or ex-boyfriend.

Little weird a little bit I'm saying, but it doesn't matter.

In the end, it doesn't matter whether it's somebody who's a Hebrew passionate Christian who loves to hear all the liturgy and all the things, or it's the Pentecostal who loves to just speak in tongues and do the things.

In the end, the family gatherings are the family gatherings of the Lord.

He gets to choose the sons and daughters that come in.

We have an obligation to walk in the sonship that we are given.

We have the obligation to walk His daughters in the calling 'cause in the end, if we're gonna call on the King to come back into war and to call all these people to assemble, we better be ready.

I'm a '90s kid.

People get ready, Jesus is coming soon, we're going home. (congregation cheering) Where you're going, how you're going is important.

There's victory in Jesus.

There's salvation in Jesus.

There is no other King.

So when you ask me, how do I go about the feast?

I know you were all asking, I could hear you. (gentle music) I'm always gonna go about the feast telling you about my King because in the end, I have a promise in the Bible that is the same as the promise you have.

There is a new Jerusalem that will come to this earth.

It will be brought from the heavenly realm.

It will not be created or fashioned by the hands of physical human beings.

It's not like this iPad.

It's gonna come down and when it comes down, there's gonna be a people and a kingdom.

And when the people in the kingdom come, they're gonna need a King.

And it says that there will be a King.

It says Yeshua will be the King.

He will be in the place where the temple was.

There will be no sun, there will be no moon.

We can argue later whether that's metaphorical, that's allegory or that's literal.

Either way, I'm all in on all of it.

And so he's gonna be in that place and the radiance of his glory is gonna shine forever and ever and ever.

And all nations, all kingdoms, all nations, yes, I'm talking about Iraq, that one.

They're gonna come, they're gonna bow.

I'm talking about Iran, shucker. (congregation applauding) I'm also a '90s kid, P-O-D, get ready.

Here comes the boom, ready or not. (congregation cheering) Let me tell you about my King.

He's gonna be in the radiance of the temple and every nation will come.

Every tribe and tongue will come.

It says day and night, they will bring their offerings and their gifts.

So whoever the nations are, whoever the kings are, I don't need to worry about them.

Let me tell you about my King.

Let's worship.
